TCO Forum for Maintenance of Production Facilities
On April 17th Tengizchevroil LLP, with the support of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Atyrau region "Atameken", organized a Forum of service providers for maintenance of its production facilities, to assist domestic companies in the procedure of preparation and passing of the tender process.
All interested companies with licenses, a minimum length of service of 5 years, and experience in the relevant field were invited to the event. They had to have the capacity to provide services at the Tengiz field to participate in the forum, as well as in the Zhylyoi district of the Atyrau region, where the production facilities of TCO company are concentrated.
"The purpose of the forum is to provide general information for potential suppliers on the requirements for maintenance, tendering procedure in TCO, safety standards. And we actively cooperate with external stakeholders to identify and to develop new opportunities for Kazakh companies", said Gary Enk, the manager of the production department of TCO, at the opening the forum.
During the event, the participants were provided with general information on the types of production and technical services in the field of maintenance of TCO production facilities, as well as on the requirements for prequalification, tendering conditions. In addition, an interactive session was held with the participation of experts to establish a dialogue with a view for further cooperation.
"The development of local content today is one of the topical issues in support of domestic producers of goods and services. This is especially true in the Atyrau region, where many large subsoil users are concentrated. The rather large volumes of procurement are observed in the region, which opens opportunities not only for local, but for the entire Kazakhstani business. Therefore, the leadership of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" today is set to concentrate efforts on increasing the share of local content in the procurement sphere. The current forum is one of the significant events in this direction, and our work will continue”, said Assylbek Jakiyev, director of the regional Chamber of Entrepreneurs.
The two major TCO projects in the Atyrau region are the Future Growth Project (FGP) and the Wellhead Pressure Management Project (WPMP). implementation of the FGP will increase oil production at the Tengiz field by about 12 million tons per year or 260,000 barrels per day. FGP implementation is aimed at expansion of production capacities, while WPMP will ensure full utilization of processing capacities of Tengiz-based plants by reducing wellhead pressure, and increasing pressure on six operating integrated production lines.
